Wil it be worth the upgrade? I'll be getting a AMD vega but I'm not sure about AMD zen. I have a FX 8000 series processor myself and I'm gonna get a MOBO that has the socket that ZEN uses. If it's worth the upgrade that is. I know it's gonna be better, But is it worth the upgrade?

If looking at the hierarchy chart, most of the FX-83xx CPUs are in the second tier.

Assuming Zen is equal to the current top tier Intel CPUs, then the only major benefit is power efficiency, and some performance gain.

If they wind up notably better and/or have more overclocking headroom... well, that's different story.

Honestly, though, until the product and the full tests/reviews come out, it's all very speculative. There are no benchmarks because no Zen CPUs are out yet. I think they were talking beginning of March.

None of my games stress my current system. The only reason I'm considering upgrading currently is because my son's PC is very budget-oriented. I'd give him my current system, and get a new one for myself.

unless your electricity is really expensive, I wouldn't change your FX for a RyZen to save some money.
I have a 8370 myself, really happy with it, looking forward to the release of RyZen, but I will wait before getting one. First because I don't want to be part of the hype that's gonna get all the bugs and problems of the first batches, the new motherboards, the bugs that might come with the first CPUs, stuff like that. Then why change when your current rig is enough for what you do? Prices will go down as time goes by, so... :)
But I have a lot of faith in RyZen, really :)

We can tell after it came out.
The FX 6 or 8 thousand series are god performers on dx12 or vulkan.
They not only god overclockers but also a nice undervolters too.
I have an 8320E (3.2 base, 3.5-4.0 turbo) 95W TDP.
By default it uses ~1.35V.
I can tweak it to 3.6 base 4.2 turbo with ~1.115V.
So i get nice performance, no TDP limit, and less electricity bills.

If i have the money when ZEN will come out then i will buy one.
Not because i need better rig.
AMD had hard times and i want to support they work by buying they product.
