Hi, I recently built a new AMD3 system that I have not been able to get my RME UFX Fireface Audio card to work with successfully. The individual components of the new computer are as follows

ASUS Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 motherboard
AMD3+ FX8350 CPU (unlocked edition)
Kingston hyper X FURY SSD 240GB
G Skill Ripjaw-X 16GB DDR3-2133 RAM
GeForceGTX 780TI PCI-E VGA card
Windows 7 64-bit service pack 1

What I have discovered is that ASUS have created an audio send from the motherboard to the VGA slot for HDMI output. After disabling the onboard Audio devices (in both the BIOS and Windows Device Manager), the HD Audio send is still active (still creating a conflict by sharing an IRQ), and this has created a conflict with my RME UFX Fireface. The end result is that any form of audio playback lasts roughly 1 minute before heavy distortion for about 2-3 seconds, and then the audio signal cuts out completely. I've been trying hard to work around the problem and discover a solution, but to no avail. I have downloaded (and installed) the latest BIOS, and device drivers and firmware for all the connected components. This doesn't seem to make any difference. At best I have been able to get longer playback, but the audio signal is full of clicks and pops. This is not desirable. The hardware (RME) works fine when connected to other computers.

I have contacted the store that sold me the motherboard and they are offering me either an exchange or refund (in the event that they don't stock a suitable motherboard). So my question is this. Is there a list of AMD3+ motherboards that have been tested with RME hardware and that are known to be compatible with an RME UFX Fireface?
Thanks in advance for your support

HI, thanks for the suggestion. Yes I have tried that too. After disabling in BIOS and Device Manger the HD audio path for the HDMI path 'appears' as inactive. The RME tech guys have suggested that the USB connection with the Fireface is still sharing an IRQ with the other audio path. I've been trying to work around this for several weeks now and I'm ready to change Motherboards. It appears that the hardware has a rare conflict with the board. I've had the Fireface for 4 years now and it worked fantastically well with my previous computers. So the board has to go. Easy fix :)
