So, it seems Haswell has a 6-7% advantage over Pinnacle Ridge at a 9% higher clock in the single threaded test.

Cinebench isn't RAM intensive, that's why AMD shines in it.

So? ~_____________________________________~

It's an official announcement, so everything that was rumour has been confirmed or denied. Now we even have the official NDA lifting date (19th) to see how Zen v1.5 really behaves.

Actually 1700x made more sense to me than 1800x, too little performance difference to make up for extra money spent.
1700x to 2700x makes full sense for me specially when OC-ed and with hope of winning some "silicone lottery" in which I obviously lost with 1700x (only 3.9 - 4GHz stable OC) possibility of 300 -400MHz more and getting full use of my 3600MHz (3200 now) RAM is just too good to pass. We all know how beneficial fast RAM is to Ryzen.

It's not unusual for flagship CPUs to be marginally better but far more expensive. It's not meant to be good value for money. The 1700 isn't too far off the performance of the 1700X but it's cheaper and it comes with a cooler. If you want to overclock you can simply discard the cooler and buy a new one with the money saved compared to the 1700X. The 1700X only really suits people who want an aftermarket cooler but don't plan to overclock.

If i had money to spare i'd sell my 1700 and get a 2700X just to play around again. My chip allows for 3200mhz memory but with only a 3.85Ghz OC.

New buyers of the 2700X RESEARCH memory make sure its the best kind it can make a big difference in performance for gaming other tasks not so much. Also the 2700X supports faster memory too compared to the 1800X.

Might even start seeing 3866mhz memory guessing 4.2Ghz will be the normal OC.

How is that even possible? I mean i have to say fake

This is the source (in spanish) linked from your link: https://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2018/04/review-amd-ryzen-7-2700x-x470/

I know Spanish and it doesn't seem fake, just... Weirdly early. They mentioned the NDA on the MoBo, but not the CPU. That is strange as hell, to say the least. Still, salt is a must.

Let's keep calm and wait for reviews on the 19th, hahaha.

Cheers!

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X overclocked to 5.8GHz before release AMD's unreleased Ryzen 7 2700X has been overclocked to 5884MHz, just 21MHz short of a highest Ryzen OC ever By: Anthony Garreffa | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: 29 mins ago

Just hoping 2700x delivers, my 1700x has lost silicone lottery big time while my old 1600x has won it somewhat, was running stable at 4.2 and 1.4v, this one barely hanging on at 4GHz and same voltage.
Also hoping for full use of my 3600MHz, b-die RAM instead of 3266MHz I'm getting now with a lot of gymnastics to get it stable.
If it also means x470 than be it, I'll go that far.

I don't think they are so weird.
Compared with first generation Ryzen 2000 series has slightly improved latencies, higher frequencies and marginally better IPC, and uses faster memories. So it makes sense to behave better than first generation.

The graphics card is a GTX 1070, so its possible that some games are bottlenecked by GPU. Not that I complain, considering current prices of GPUs It makes sense to include 1070 and even 1060 in the reviews since most players can't afford anything better. But still a review is not complete without showing also results with a top end GPU (1080ti currently).

In fact the difference between 8400 and 8700k (including all CPUS in between) for rise of tomb rider is marginal, suggesting the GPU is (at least partially) the bottleneck.

We should wait for benches using better GPUs but I don't think this ones in particular are questionable.

I'll go one step farther: The fact that some of the data looks odd is evidence that these aren't made up numbers, which always tend to be "perfect".

In fact, that is what lead me to believe the benchies are not fake, lol. The NDA though... That is weird.

Cheers!

I just found a very instructive explanation published yesterday of what is and what is not TDP.
Since we have had eternal discussions in this thread about TDP I think it's worth to post here.

Unfortunately its in french, but google translation is relatively decent. So i post translation too for those not understanding french.
