[citation][nom]slyphnier[/nom]ever since 10.11 ... many user got "100% GPU usage" and "top right mouse lag" issue11.4 early preview still having the issuefrom what i know the issue above mostly effect radeon 5000series (5850 and 5970)for people having those issue forced to stick with 10.10estill no news when amd will fix those issue, as from what i heard amd can't replicate the issue on their lab, thus can't fix it[/citation]

Having the same issue with my 6870. I guess I can live with it but it seems that no matter how good ATi gfx cards are they will never have the perfect drivers...

Another excellent article that really set the benchmark.

I currently have a Nvidia desktop card and an AMD laptop card. Personally I prefer the Nvidia driver interface, but since 11.2 the Catalyst interface has been revamped for the better as well.

Newer had any driver problems with my HD 5850.All games i installed from Sept 2009 just works well.Mybe it's because i use the card with AMD platforms.First the Spider and now the dragon platform.

Sorry got it wrong.First Spider then Dragon and June last year updated to Leo platform with Tuban 6 core Cpu.Eversince i used the amd patforms my systems were very steady indeed, with hd 4850 and onwards.

I just bought a 5750 for a new build. I have been out of the loop of hardware versions since I haven't built a system for quite some time. I didn't realize the the 5000 series were around so long. Anyway are there similar improvements with the 5700 series as with the 5800?

Yes Alphabiker. The performance increases is usaully about the same although the driver team works little bit more on the high end cards than the mid or low end cards.

OK how about EVE online?

i run three clients on two samsung 24" lcds with Two ATI 4870-X-2 with both two gigs on wach card. I ran the same with one card. When in crossfire i'm down to one monitor. Battlefield-2 crash's and i've yet to see any diff from using one card to join or using two of the same on diff monitors.

intel core to quad Q9550 Yorkfield 45mm

core speed is 203.09 Multi is X6.0

main board is a Asus P5E - Delux X-48 chipset

memory 534.3 mhz 5-5-15-68-2t

powercool 850SSI that you recommended as the last psu i would need, i've sent this unit in twice now and they have replaced the trans-sisters.

I would like to say this the drivers that come out are very tricky. Why because i like to use a JOYSTICK that ive yet to break it was also recomended and no longer for sale and does not work with anything above win-vista and even though it comes with a USB 1.0 will not work with this MOtherboard. God i have a box 1 foot square of cd games i've bought over the years and parts too lol. What really gets me about ATI is it seems they claim to be the best and good reviews in general but when you try to so some things with other venders software it booms big time. I bought the new Nvidea GTX-5900 1 gig card at over $900.00 i found out it would play games fine until you brought it to my monitors true rez. I would like to see video's of systems that can play old and new. MS flight sim looks the same dam way in a GTX-460 as mine in a older ATI-4870X2 with one card. Yes i know they are different but why wont battlefield 2142 play on an ATI? I Have bought all the cards mostly from both venders as they became breakthroughs. Hence i have Dimonds 770 supper 3-d and the game that cost me over $123.00 LOL. I quite buying the consuls. Any way i just wish you guys would get a hold of older gamers like me and say hey! Wad yea think about that game or card?

want photos, lol ill take them, i've got a computer for every room and more sitting on shelf's in the basement, even apple's and brand new software never used lol.

I have 2 5870's in crossfire, started having the same issues mentioned in comments by other people.
I solved all the problems by replacing the 5870's with a GTX580.

ATI's drivers have always been great.

It's pretty clear their developers know more than most about how to execute a strategy of constant improvement.

This is 30+ years of professional software engineering experience talking to your several years of playing video games.
