News AMD's RX 9070 is on track to become the best-selling GPU on Amazon — RDNA 4 already ranks as the top bestseller in Amazon Germany and UK

Uhh... IDK if y'all read or watch reviews, but the B580's direct competition is the RTX 4060. Not even the Ti version.
I think you are mistaking it for the B750/770, which hasn't even been announced or shown on camera.
The RX 9070/XT is direct competition to the RTX 4070Ti Super/5070Ti.

The most likely competition for B580 will be the RX 9060/XT, whenever that comes out.

I'm not sure how upset Intel is given that every B580/B570 that makes it to retail is selling. Perhaps they wish they'd used a larger wafer order for them, but there are still Alchemist cards on shelves so it's understandable why they didn't.
I can see, the ones actually listed, they're all in stock, but way over their MSRP.

Regards.

I have checked best sellers page on amazon.it, amazon.es and amazon.fr (Italia, Espana, France): They all have the RX 9070 XT as best selling (price currently at 1050€), only Italia feature a RTX 4070 (not Ti) in the top 10 (second place), France and Espana buy RTX 4060 or RTX 3060 at best in nVidia but all cards from AMD are selling well.

this doesnt suprise me nvidia shot themselves in the foot. prices are wild now for 4000 series as well as 5000 since most of the 4000 series are either sold out or not in production.

mean while 9070 offers same performance at 1440p at same 4070 ti and nvidia rx 5070 and 4070 super at cheaper cost then what i paid for a 4070 super.

and even in some games its beating them out in rt. at 1440p

what is not to like.

B580/B570 is sells out because Intel didn't make many of them on purpose. Intel is selling them at a loss. The more they make and sell the more money they lose. So it's this extreme lack of production that makes them be sold-out at retail.

There are some B580s available that aren't scalped, but they are in prebuilt pcs. With CPUs like the 14400f. Which is a big market for Intel so shouldn't be much of a surprise. And are they selling them at a loss? Smaller die than Alchemist.

I made the leap from a 3080 Ti to 9070 XT. Debated sticking with Nvidia but between the price gouging and terrible availability, I managed to snag the XT and I don’t regret it at all, it performs like a champ. The 3080 Ti was no slouch itself, but it did struggle in some spots, particularly on games that need more than 12 GB. 9070 XT filled that gap nicely.

AMD really rugged Nvidia with this release. Excellent performance, a great price tag and well available is the trifecta. I think it could be the GPU of the year.

Show us some financials on the loss. Would be very interesting.

Except, from what I hear, they lose money on each board sold....

Rumors on the internet are fun. Given all of the issues moving stock of Alchemist and how much money they lost on it the chances of these cards being sold at a loss is low. It's very unlikely that they're making the margins that they would want to with it, but equally unlikely that they're taking a loss.

Even if we assume that AMD may not be interested in selling too many gaming GPUs as these chips don't provide strong enough margins when compared to data center CPUs or Ai accelerator cards, there is reason to believe that they are making a huge strategic mistake: by flooding the market with affordable GPUs they would not only appeal to gamers but also to many content creators and to the scientific community, including plenty of developers around the globe, who would then facilitate the adoption and further development of AMD-specific tools such as mRoc, which in turn would drive the demand for and sales of their high-end Ai GPUs.
But this would require to thinka few more steps ahead of the next fiscal quarter earning results....

The supply has been phenomenal and the MSRP has stuck for most of the large drops. AMD has done a killer launch, a real launch and not like nVidia's confirmed and Intel's possible paper launches.
Only in the US. Amazon Japan has the Sapphire Pure 9070XT going for $1,800.

An absolute steal. /s

Plus shipping, of course.

Microcenter got over 11,000 9070/XT's at launch. Nvidia put out a few measly 100's at launch and only a little above 2000 5090/5080 since 1/30
