AMI BIOS Update

So I have never updated my BIOS before. I read somewhere to download the new AMI one off of their website, but they have three different ones. I also heard if I download the wrong one, my computer is done for. So which one do I get? The Aptio V, Aptio 4, or AMIBIOS 8?

That's not how it's done.
BIOS version goes by motherboard, go to MB manufacturer's site and find it there. You'll find exact instructions how to do it in it's manual. Follow to a T !!!
Make sure you know exact version of the MB to get right BIOS version, if wrong version, best case scenario it would refuse to install and worst case brick the MB.
Example my MB:
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 (rev. 1.1), present BIOS version F14b.
