You think power brackets don’t exist in desktop? The M4 Pro still beats new i7s that draw 5x the power

I’m still waiting on these inspirons that outperform an M4 pro btw
I literaly just played Half Life 2, Stray, Portal, Portal 2, House Flipper, and No Man's Sky all atleast 60 FPS medium settings on a Dell Optiplex from 2013 with no gpu.
Can an M4 do any of that? No, not without 3rd party software and a bunch of glitches.

Why are you mentioning gaming? The OP is about editing and work.

Which optiplex is that exactly because the 2400g struggles to hit 30 at 1080p medium and that’s faster than any iGPU from 2013.

First of all, the 2600g is a CPU, second, it's a Dell Optiplex 3010 sff with an i3-3220 and 4GB of DDR3, it would have more but I didn't have an extra stick.
Also, I was running at 1280x1024@75HZ.
And the reason why I brought up gaming is because if it can game, it can also do video editing and tons of other things.

Also, I didn't mean to say No Man's Sky, it was my laptop that ran that at 60FPS.

Plus, it runs Crysis at max settings 1280x1024 at 20-25fps, at low settings it runs at 50-60.

Mate the edit button exists.

Sure you didn’t.

Oh wow Crysis. That might have been impressive 15 years ago. It’s a shame the M1 air can run it better at 1080p high over 30 through a translation layer and emulator without a fan. But again read the OP, why are you talking about gaming?

Hi everyone!

I need to buy a new MacBook, and I am in dire need of advice :)

I am looking for a portable MacBook that can run Photoshop and Lightroom at the same time.
Other than those programs, I use it for classic Google Drive work and file classification with an external disk drive.

I am also on a budget because I work as the coordinator of a marine NGO!
So if I could keep the price under 1000 CHF (Swiss Francs), that would be great :)

Thank you for your time!

A MacBook Air from 2013 with 2gb ram should be fine
