Greetings All! This is my first time posting here! I have, as my title says, an interesting problem. I have built my pc with a 700mHz Athlon Thunderbird, DFI motherboard (model AK-74) and generic PC133 128mb of RAM. When I try to load any type of operating system, such as windows 98/nt/2000, or linux the system freezes. However, when in the system BIOS it doesn't freeze. Anybody have any ideas on what it could be? Any help at all is REALLY appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance!

My additional specs are:
Video Card: Voodoo 3 3000
Sound Card: Integrated Sound on motherboard
Hard Disk Type: 1 Seagate 6GB UDMA 66 and 1 Maxtor 6GB UDMA 66 that have been tested.

sorry... I just get a kick out of "Athlon Thunderbird" 😱)... anyway, could be a number of problems, give us a run down on the system and more details...

Just because your memory tested good on another system does not mean it will work in yours unless that other system had the same motherboard and bios settings. Athlon systems tend to be VERY fussy on memory. Try setting your memory to 100MHz in bios to (100/100/33 instead of the higher perfromance 100/133/33) and to Cas3 in bios.

Suicide is painless...........
