When DDR6 is released will also play a part on when this will happen.

DDR6 for desktops probably won't be coming until 2027/28. Zen 6 will probably come earliest end of 2025 but more likely Q2 2026. To me that means it will be Zen 7 that will use DDR6.

8 performance cores needs to be easy to get to, if not the minimum. After that, slower cores are going to be fine for most. This is at least true until a couple of years after the release of next-gen consoles.

Intel seems to be scaling back on P-cores, at least for laptops. The Gen 12 to 14 (i.e. Meteor Lake) laptop dies topped out at 6 P-cores. In Lunar Lake, Intel is ratcheting back even further, to a max of just 4 P-cores.

Almost assuredly DDR6, and maybe even a future DDR7. On-package memory for desktop PCs seems to be far off, though it will likely come to laptops much sooner.
