I am looking for an Android app that allows me to save a location in Google maps then name it and index it so I can find the place again.

For example I find a shop that sells video card water coolers, a pretty specialised piece of kit that I may need to only buy every 3-5 years. When I need to buy it again I cannot remember exactly where it is.

In this case I want to mark it on google maps and call it video card cooler shop and then a brief description field like "3rd floor or the sales guy's name". I want to be able to index by the name i have given it (video card cooler shop) rather than the google name which is either the building name, the street address or in some cases the business name which might be Bobs Electroonics.

Thanks

Why not just put it in your contacts. A lot of map software links to addresses in your contacts, and will allow you to pull up a map to it from within your contacts. Even worst case, all you'd have to do is copy the address, and paste it into a map application.

ss202sl, a good work around solution but would prefer a dedicated app.

sidik, looks like a useful app but appears to offer only what google maps does plus offline capability. I am a bit surprised that what I am after is so hard to get or does not exist.

this map has so far everything im not sure what is missing in it, it can show you hotels,resturants.... and its offline, if you found my solution helpful press the solution so this can be marked as solved

sidik, I have only read the information supplied by the apps author as to what it does but what is not included is what I specified in my original post and so hardly qualifies as having everything. I found your answer helpful in a general sense, for which I thank you, without it addressing the specifics I outlined.
