Want to run AutoDesk Maya as well as other assorted tools. Realize many use workstation$ for this, but would like to see if a home built PC is adequate.
Approximate Purchase Date: soon as possible
Budget Range: $600-$700 (after rebates) would be nice, but realize ~$1000 might be more realistic. Lower $ is better, but performance matters.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: rending using Maya, some photoshop. No games.
Parts Not Required:keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS. Believe current case and PS is OK.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Fry's, newegg
Country: CA, USA
Parts Preferences: Intel Ivy Bridge. Z68 something MB. SSD. No graphics preferences
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Single graphics card if needed (see comments)
Additional Comments: Any chance the IvyBridge embedded graphics is OK for this app? If no, need best bang graphics card.
I have experience with Intel's SSD caching on Z68 from another build and love it. Is that sufficient, or need a dedicated SSD for C: ?
Thanks
