Hi;
I have an Anchor 5000 DPI gaming mouse, model 98AN5000-BA. It is more than 18 months old, so out of warranty.
Recently, I found that the left button sometimes causes two or three "LMOUSE" events for one click. I tested this using the Passmark Keyboard test.

I tried uninstalling the mouse driver/utility but it still has the problem. So I am assuming that the micro-switch for the LMB is bad.
I am pretty good with the soldering iron, so thought I might be able to replace the switch myself. That is, if I can buy a new one.
Does anyone know where I might look for the switch?
And will it be possible to replace without special SMT tools?

Thanks
FW

Yes, left mouse microswitches often go bad. And not just that mouse...many/most of them.
Nothing to do but try to replace the physical switch. No software will fix this.

For a new switch, you'll have to dismantle the mouse and see if there is a part number on that particular microswitch.

Or just get a new mouse.

Yea. It may not be worth the trouble replacing the switch. I bought this mouse a few years ago, and could probably get the 8,000 DPI one for the same price. But I will open it and take a look.

Well, I decided to order a new mouse; UtechSmart Venus 16400 DPI... from Amazon. It's going to be delivered today. It cost me $39.
What on Earth I will do with 16400 DPI I don't know - I will be turning it down, probably to 5,000 DPI or less.
Just curious; what is such high DPI good for? With the Anker 5,000 DPI, it always seems that if I set the DPI to 5,000, I am unable to control the mouse. I need to set it at 3,000.

Anyway, the main reason I bought the UtechSmart mouse is that it has Omron micro switches, and I know that is a good brand.
