Annoying Windows 7 instalation problem

I bought a 1tb Hitachi deskstar internal drive and when I try to fresh install , when it asks me to pick a hard drive it doesn't recognise any of them (even the ones that were working and I was using before I tried to add the new hard drive) I don't think the new hard drive needs drivers but not sure..

So what I really want is to start a fresh 64bit Windows copy and then copy the stuff I wanted from old hard drives ..
Pc been not working now for about a week..I'm sure I'm just missing something small but hope you guys can help

My external drive seems to be dead aswell.. just had to go for the 3 strikes... not 1 not 2 but 3 dead hard drives.. Everything gone..Is there anyway to recover lost data? everythings gone sigh

Try to slave them into another PC.

You can use recuva and easeus, and maybe recover some of the data.

I took the external hdd apart and put in a different one to try using the usb and tried it on a laptop but it didn't show up

Not even in disk management? Or as a conflict in the device manager?

Well it didn't pop up when I pluged it in and wasn't in my computer and I took out hard drive and connected it via sata cable and didn't show up in boot disk priority ..might drop it in to the shop to see can they do anything..
