Greetings :}

Ive been running my Current Rig for sometime and im thinking of Going SLi now..
My system is more than ready, Asus A8N-Sli Deluxe with just a 64bit XP3500 Stock@2.2Ghz
2x 1 gig sticks of Ocz
Xfi Fatality..
one raid array 2x 160gig maxtors Spanned and Partitioned into 3,
One sata Backup 300 gigs and a 120 sata for windows..
Antec Truepower 560 watt PSU..

And one.. yes only one 6800 Ultra {albatron board}

I would like to hear what any of you that are actually using Sli would reccomend to upgrade.. should i jsut find another 6800 Ultra ?? or woudl i get more performance from 2 7800 Gt's ??? im selling my old card to a freind for very close to the price for a single 7800 so its really a question of what will work better for me vs the cost..

thankyou in advance for any ideas😛 cheers...

A single 7800GT would probably give you similar performance to two 6800 Ultras in SLI.

Go 7800 GT. And if you can afford two, get a single 7800 GTX 512mb instead (if you can find one).

... or wait for the X1900 XT's coming out this month...

Is that the 48-pixelpipe card? BRB, heading to bathroom to clean up.

Being big on games myself my nexted upgrade will be a 7800gtx512 only 1 cause of the cost. After reading a lot of reviews on sli im not convinced its all that and a packet of crisps
the better thing i beleive is go for a 10,000 rpm hard drive instead, i have 2 74gig wd raptors in raid 0 config and they rock now you can get the 150's as well

plus when you go to upgrade nexted time its hard to get rid of 1 grafic card let alone two 🙁

just my 2 cents worth

I agree 😀

Single 7800GT or GTX is the way to go.

If you have $ burning a whole in your pocket maybe your should consider upgrading something else before you opt for a second 7800GT

Semper Fi carry on

"which is worth a lot since it's rare) "

For the life of me, I cannot understand how major retailers can sell a 6800 Ultra PCI-e for $499-$550, and a 7800GT for $350, with the latter being clearly a superior solution...

You'd *think* prices of 6800 Ultras would simply fall to reflect their performance deficits compared to the newer cards, but yet...prices stay as they are...beats me!
