Antec mercury 360 aio liquid cpu cooler

Solution

On the Corsair 280mm or Thermaltake 280mm, not really any difference as I ran the Corsair H110i GTX for nearly 2 years. They are very good AIO's and never missed a beat. I chose the Antec becouse I wanted a 360mm radiator to fill the right side of my Themaltake P3 case and it works just as well as the Corsair with slighly better temps at a lower fan speed...oh and it was a bit more cost effective, especially as you are gettiing a tripple radiator AIO. Most AIO's are pretty much the same other than slight variations in the looks department. The pumps tends to be the same, as they are all from Asetek. The other AIO's with...
I bought mine a couple of months ago and have not looked back. The price was great and it was simple to instal and keeps my CPU very cool. I run a I7-6700K at 4.4Ghz all cores and at idle it is at 20 to 23 degrees (I live in the UK). At full load on all cores in Prime95/Aida64/Intel Burn the CPU never goes above 65 to 70 Degrees.

The tubing could be better as it would have looked much better sleaved, but for the price I can live with the tubing. The fans that come with it are more than okay, but I changed mine to Corsair HD 120 RGB's...Overall, I am happy as I was looking for a 360mm radiator to fill out my Thermaltake P3 case.

But i installed this and it normally keeps 40 C Up.. what's the problem then ?????

Motherboard Gigabyte z270X Gaming 9

just using chrome

And also my LED is not working.. it's always showing blue.. even in overclocked ..

Okay, if you are running an XMP profile on your ram (eg. DDR4 @3000) then your cpu will be running around 5 to 10 degrees hotter at idle, second, what is your ambient temps in your house, do you live in a hot country? Temps outside here in the UK are 16 degrees C, inside I would say it's about 20 Degrees C.

Finally, the cpu should be idleing at around 25 to 30 max just using chrome, yes you should have fluctuations to the 40's but they should be few and far between. Personally, I do not think it is seated properley, re - apply thermal paste (I put a size of a small pea in the centre of CPU) and then it did require a bit of tighting down on the spring loaded screws.

Right now I am running Chrome and watching a Gamer Network video on You Tube and my temps are fluctuating between 23 and 29 degrees and my CPU is at 4.5Ghz..Core i7-6700k..

With regars to colour changing: I asked Antec about this and they said the following: if the CPU core temperature is 65 degrees, the CPU surface temperature is about 55 degrees, the cooling water and CPU temperature is about 20-25 degrees lower, so it doesn't reach the heat temperature of change colour, ( our design has installed the thermistor inside the head of water cooling ).This is sensible otherwise the color on the pump would be changing all the time..Its about the water temprature..

I lives in Bangladesh and my current weather temp is 31 C and cpu temp is currently 42 C at 10% Load.. And at overclocked near 80 C.. is all okay ????

Yes, it is okay as your ambient temps are very high...31 degrees outside temp and probably that inside, so dont worry. Just wanted to know whether you are running your ram overclocked as well...what speed is your ram running at? 3000Mhz? are you running a XMP profile on the ram?

I'm Using 2133 Mhz RAM 16 GB.... and planning for 3000Mhz Corsair RAM

The other AIO's with there own pump design are Alphacool 'Eisbaer' and BeQuiet with there 'Silent Loop' which are both Alphacool pumps...The Alphacool Eisbaer has a slightly more powerful pump but I just do not like the looks..But still great AIO's..Choices, choices..

Final point on AIO's, they can never go below the ambient temprature, so if your temprature in the room is 30 degrees then the AIO's best temp will be a couple of degress above that..No way around this unless you are using specialised cooling like Peltier or TEC...

Hi Shantohasibul, I also did a bit of research on the 7700K as I am running the 6700K, the 7700K runs a little hotter than my 6700K and on average Idle's in the high 20's (29/30 degrees), with you ambient tempratures, your temps in your region of 30 degrees, the temps of your 7700K should be around the mid to high 30's... I would not worry.

As also discussed, I have setup my radiator to push air through the radiator...not pull..So the fans are placed in front of the radiator pushing air through the radiator. If you can place the radiator in the front of your case, the you can push cooler air through the radiator. If placed at the top of your case, I would still use the fans to push air through the radiator and out of the top of the case... Just make sure you have some fans in the front of the case bringing cool air into the case..Good airflow in a case does make a difference..

I am a bit luckier than you as in the UK temps here are around 16 degrees C and room temp is around 18 to 20 degrees, so I idle very cool..

I'm also from Bangladesh. And the reason I asked him about Corsair because they provide the longest warranty in our region, compared to Antec or others. And Thermaltake has a longer history here than other brands. Here, the re-seller and brand's presence+service is of equal importance to the product's quality. But I do agree about the upside of 360mm radiators.

Either way, the cooling issue probably has more to do with 7700K having poor TIM or IHS contact then the Antec AIO performing poorly.

I see, here in the UK we get a 5 year warranty on the Antec...I understand on the reseller point as I suppose you have to make sure that they can and will do a good job on customer service if things go wrong...On the i7-7700k TIM, yes Intel did cheap out in this area..
