Anti-malware Service Executable

This service is using 150MB of memory all the time when im idle or just on the internet, I have 8GB so the more RAM I have to use the better. I cant find it on my PC to uninstall either.http://

That is likely Windows Defender's antimalware service.

Yes, if you expand the Antimalware Service Executable icon in Task Manager Processes, you will see that it is the Windows Defender Service. This is probably not something you would want to disable. My Windows Defender Service is only using 67MB of RAM, so I don't know why yours is using more than twice that amount.

It's part of windows, and you cannot uninstall it normally. Now.. it should only run and stuff IF you don't have other anti virus/malware toys in use in which case removing it is a bad idea.

It has been replaced more or less in windows 10 creators update by more recent windows defender security center:

So.. depending on what version of windows you are running and if you have other anti virus/malware tools in use, disabling it is either good or bad idea or doesn't apply to you at all. (if it's not msmpeng.exe or windows defender security center)

Mine (AntiMalware Service Executable) only consumes 27-28 MB, but, perhaps yours might have been active with a scan at the time...

Golden rule: Unused ram is wasted ram. However, that doesn't sort the issues out. Maybe you have a malicious file that constantly tries to infect your PC, which is why the process is constantly running fairly high levels? Have you tried restarting your PC? Have you tried scanning your PC with Malwarebytes or Adwcleaner to clean up potential malware?

Assuming you have ruled out any other problems with your system, installing 3rd party antivirus will disable Windows Defender automatically if you are having issues with it, or if it isn't performing how you like.
