Working on the Omega Race I got yesterday, I've been cleaning it up and
on the inside around the monitor it says to only use Anti-Static glass
cleaner. Now i'm sure back in 1981 glass cleaner was made of something
different then it is today. But before I mess with cleaning it up(Has
like a really dusty blue film build up on it) Wanted to ask if all
glass cleaner is anti static or if i'll have to go get some at like
radio shack? I've cleaned all my other monitors with regular glass
cleaner with no problems, but maybe i've just been lucky with not
screwing them up so far. So is it safe to use regular stuff or should
i start using special stuff to clean them?

At the time many operators were using ordinary glass cleaners which
allowed the monitor to get dirty again very fast. The manufacturers
started recommending anti-static cleaners so that the games would look
cleaner and stay cleaner longer. You don't have to use it, but it does
help in the long run.

At my former employer, we exclusively used Wildcat Chemical Company's
"Touchdown" commercial arcade monitor glass/plexiglass antistatic
cleaner. Works great and really cuts down on time between needing
cleanings. Many coin-op distributors/dealers carry it since it is
specific to the coin op game industry. Betson-Imperial, Happ Controls,
Mazzco, Amusements Plus, Penn-Ray, etc. all stock it.

Ahhh......thanks Ken. Wondered why they said not to use regular glass
cleaner. Thought maybe the monitor would blow up if ya didn't..... :)
