I can use optimus via nvidia to play in a window on my screen. The desktop uses integrated gpu and the game window uses the gpu but I cannot enable gsync unless I drop the whole thing and turn the integrated gpu off entirely. That's totally not what I want to do. I don't see why it wouldn't work even at low low low frame rates? Can someone explain? Thanks!

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

That's totally not what I want to do.
And what is it that you want to do with your platform? Using the iGPU takes some of your system ram, having your monitors all hooked up to your discrete GPU would be the most efficient way of doing things and you dump less heat into your system

Perhaps it's because the resources necessary to do so aren't worthwhile or generate positive yields.

^ you've had a go at it, prior, it seems.
