Anti virus and firewall

I am looking for an anti virus that will not slow down my computer these are my choices
CA Internet Security Suite 2010 fee from road runner
Mcafee total protection 2010 Free
Microsoft Security Essentials
Avg
i also need a firewall that will not slow down my bittorrent downloads

I've heard nothing bad about Microsoft's product, nothing good about Mcafee.

Avast, AVG are top picks among the free antivirus programs.

Can only speak in broader principles. The one supplied with Windows XP was only good for incoming -- you had to go to the independents to check outgoing data as well.

I don't know whether Vista/Win7 changed that, possibly the MS product you listed does the complete job.

I'm not much use on firewalls, as I confess I usually leave software firewall disabled as it interferes with the casual way I occasionally network my computers -- relying on the router for external protection.

u should use .AVG free version 2011 or AVG internet security 2011......
i recommened this software to everyone .This software is very light to use and removes all the defected items from computer.

if u use win 7 or vista then on ur window firewall...
its best .....
otherwise if u don't trust in it ...then u should use AVG internet security OR Avast internet security...

Antivirus ---

Free - AVAST or AVG
Paid - do not be surprised, Norton 2010 ( not sure about 2011). This antivirus after gaining worldwide bad name for resource consumption, 2010 version was released especially for GAMERS and keeps a close watch on resources which you can also see from inside graphs.

Firewall ---- ZONEALARM , period. and this is free too.

Go for AVG, but even MacAfee is good as I have been using it and had no issues.

I personally would choose AVG + Windows firewall (if you are under a router).
Never had any problems with AVG.
