Antivirus for non SSE2 Compliant Processor.

What are my options for an antivirus for a non SSE2 compliant processor?

I have used AVG for years with great satisfaction. However, now it requires an SSE2 compliant processor.

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(TM) 1.2 GHz
Memory: 512 MB
O/S: XP / SP3

It is a free, open source product that MAY work on your ancient hardware. I applaud your desire to keep it running, but it may be time to retire this old rig.

It installed OK. However, it fails to download the virus definitions. Regardless, thank you for your response.

XP...?Honestly?

abandon Win XP, and move to an older Linux Mint or Ubuntu version...they actually run off little RAM better than WIndows...

Okay, that is an issue. I do not think any anti-virus solution will help you. I know that some older versions of providers might do the deed, you would have to contact them personally via email to ask them for a copy, if they even have one. Unfortunately, Mdd is right on this one, it is better for you to get more accustomed to Linux versions because they are not going to hog as many resources and will work more efficiently.
