Question CPU temperature jumps every 30 seconds ?

Hi!

CPU: Ryzen 7600X

What could cause the CPU temperatures to jump between 30 and 80 degrees every ~30 seconds? I can hear the fans ramping up and then slowing down again, and this happens regularly.

He there,

What bios are you running on the system? Are all system drivers up to date? If not, do that now.
What PSU are you running on the PC? Make and model. Are you OCing the CPU with PBO or Ryzen master or something?
Sorry i forgot psu but it is: RM850x corsair. Bios and drviers is up date. And i havent OC the cpu. But i have check that out!

I noticed that CPU Clock speed is jumping 0.5 to 4.7 every 30sec and temps is doing the same.
Could i have accidentaly OC to cpu?

I believe by default PBO2 or Precision Boost Overdrive is enabled by default on your motherboard so in effect, you are using the built in AMD overclocking mechanism

Hi! What could cause the CPU temperatures to jump between 30 and 80 degrees every ~30 seconds? I can hear the fans ramping up and then slowing down again, and this happens regularly.

The processor is a 7600X
What causes it is OS and program activity which causes CPU to speed up which in turn uses higher voltage and more power and that means higher temps necessitating higher fan RPM.
Open Task manager with performance tab -CPU the graph will show what is happening.

Most boards have 2 sections for AND overclocking options.
AND most boards have it enabled by default.
So if you are on AUTO, PBO/2 is enabled.
Auto overclocking is now the default bios setting and must be disabled for normal operation.
Hi! So, I found the Precision Boost Overdrive setting in the BIOS of my ASRock motherboard and disabled it. However, the same issue still continues—temperatures and CPU performance keep spiking regularly. Below is more graph data from the CPU.

QUICK UPDATE! I installed the AMD Ryzen Master application and enabled Auto OC. Right now, the fans aren't ramping up, and the processor seems to be running much calmer, with temperatures staying around 40°C!
