Hello, woke up this morning to find out my brother was on my computer last night trying to find a keygen software for adobe CS5. And i'm not sure what he downloaded but my windows 7 pc is really messed up. I get porno.org popups, viagra pop ups, and misc bankerfox.a virus threat popups. Every time i try to open a program i get a error, for example when opening Malware bytes anti malware i recieve the Error MBaM.EXE failed to execute. Followed by another popup, would you like to run your antivirus software now?

So, i opened windows 7 in safe mode, went to internet explorer, Deselected proxy server, and tried to connect to the internet getting an error771, internet failed to connect beause i tried connecting before something crucial loaded?

So i skipped the RKill step and just ran Malwarebytes in safemode, It came up with 5 viruses, something along the lines of trojan.fakealert.blahblahblah. So i chose to remove them. restarted as prompted, and nothing.....

i have had this virus before on my last computer and ended up having to pay ITOK to remove it and it honestly scarred my PC forever, it was a brand new PC (custom built) and it honestly took 5 minutes to open Mozilla Firefox after the removal of this virus, so i really don't feel like going to ITOK again.
Any ideas?

Sounds like he was looking for some porn also.

System restore to last week.

Run malwarebytes.

Run Superantispyware.

Run System mechanic 10 even if just in trial mode.

If it works great, if not reformat.

Usually I will reformat just to be sure, but if a customer really needs to keep his PC the way it is I try the above.

I would suggest format it and install a good antivirus...I found Quick Heal to be good enough as far as internet security is concerned they even have some pretty interesting plans that give you almost 66% bonus subscription...you can also try it for free http://www.quickheal.com/

There is a great web site that has many free and pay versions of anti-virus and other security programs here:

http://www.majorgeeks.com

To scan an infected PC without bringing up Windows, use this Kaspersky application:

http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_Rescue_Disk_d6501.html

The only issue is you have to have a working PC (preferably with no viruses) with a CD/DVD burner. Be sure to burn as an image so it will boot.

I strongly advise against using any pirated software. You or your brother could end up in a lot of trouble. Businesses that get caught doing that have been fined a hundred times more than the cost of the legitmate software licenses.

Hope this information was helpful.
