Yes you can! In fact it's recommend to have an anti-virus paired with an anti-malware, as the anti-malware does not conflict with the anti-virus and acts as a secondary opinion scanner.

Avast, Kaspersky and Bitdefender are my three free anit-virus recommendations.

As for the anti-malware (secondary opinion) scanners: Hitman-pro, Zemana and Malwarebytes are all great.

However unlike the free antivirus that I mentioned, Hitman-pro has a 30 free trial and Zemana has a 15 day free trial. After that, they will still detect malware, but you have to pay the full version to remove them. Malwarebytes has a 30 free trial, but unlike Hitman-pro and Zemana, it will still detect and remove malware after the trial date. Malwarebytes just won't be running in real time, nor will you have real time web protection (you have to scan manually).
