Question Any advantage of doing this?

My Gateway is BGW210-700 (setup in pass-through) and I have Asus RT-AC86U behind the gateway to handle all routing.
If I setup wifi on gateway to use 5ghz and on the Asus setup wifi to use only 2.4ghz..would there be any advantage of doing that?
I know kinda odd question and I suspect there will be no advantage

Typically you can't have pass through and WIFI. WIFI requires routing features. Just leave your WIFI on the Asus. If you want to improve your Asus run Merlin firmware -- https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/

Makes sense about WiFi and passthrough, already have Merlin on the Asus...thanks
