I just bought a Meshify 2 Compact from eBay and didn't consider the fact that it did not mention it was from a smoke-free home... it smells of cigarettes. Kind of weird because it is clearly barely used at all, I'd say it is basically as-new apart from the smell.

I'm not really sure what is safe to use on this case to try and remove the smell - would using white vinegar be okay on all surfaces do you think?

Not sure about the fans, I'd hate to have to replace them as there are 4 and all are RGB which is really why I got the case in the first place - this is a build for someone else who likes RGB. They are also 12 so giving them a PC which makes their room smell of cigarettes would not go down well with their parents!!

Any advice would be much appreciated, particularly from anyone with experience of doing something similiar in the UK as I get the impression that the availability of products differs from the US a bit.

You can tear down the entire case, detach the front panel from the case and then go to town with an automotive detailing brush, some soap and water. You can use Windex as the final product after you've dried each panel with a dry towel or an air blower.

Is my 2 cents on the matter.

Thanks - I actually have a detailing brush that I bought for doing wheels but haven't used it yet so that is a great idea!
