Hello

I built my new Pc and wanted to run a benchmark to see how good it is, any benchmark software I run that tests the GPU causes the Pc to crash, Black screen and then Pc restarts.

I did some research and installed MSI afterburner, when press the K icon (kombuster) on afterburner causes the Pc to crash like before.

When I run Kombuster 3 any test cause the PC to crash.

I have uninstalled drivers and software and reinstalled them,. all drivers and software is up to date.

I though the crash was due to over heating, but Pc crashes the minute I run it.

Afterburner shows the GPU temperature is at 35c,

nothing on my PC is overclocked even thou it does have overclock capabilities.

Many thanks

Solution

750W is fine, just higher quality.

Seasonic Focus 750W or Prime Gold 750W.

do you monitor cpu temps?

are you using adapters on the gpu?

Hi Maxalge

yes I do monitor CPU temps, i am using Asus AI Suite to do this, CPU temp is around 27c to 33c on idle.

what do you mean about adapters as I am not sure.

The GPU is slotted into the PCI express on the motherboard and secured to the PC case. the power connector for the GPU is a PCI-E 8 pins and a 6 pin connector.

thank you for your recommendations.

I was looking at the

Corsair RM1000i RMi Series 1000 Watt Fully Modular Power Supply Unit (80 Plus Gold Certified)

Would that be good,

Overkill.

Don't need anything close to a 1,000W PSU.

Really a waste of money.

Only reason to ever think about that would be if you got a Zillion Core i9 ($1,500 CPU) and overclocked it to the moon.

Other than that, nope.

Thanks Jankerson.

I will go for Seasonic Focus.

this is my full setup.

750W should be ok.

I will ordered it and get back to you to see if it has rectified the problem,

many thanks

thank you jankerson.

got the new PSU, went for the 850W seasonic, it was the same price as the 750W.

all working now, could not believe it would have been the PSU as the old PSU was working OK.

anyway many thanks for your help
