Yeah well as the tread title reads, this was an observed issue, but seems to be rectified with a clean format and install.

Besides that, my copy of Windows 11 home 64bit ran 100% smooth for the last four months on my pc, So I'd say still top notch OS.

Solution
Unclickable icons, unresponsive start menu, unresponsive start button, taksbar icons unresponsive or missing/invisible, system tray doesn't come up...you name it=corrupt OS, provided malware hasn't come onboard.

I tend to disconnect from the www before the OS install, once in OS GUI, I pop out a pen drive that houses all necessary drivers for my platform and install them manually in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator. Once all drivers are installed, I connect to the www then run OS update.
Often times an OS update can knocks it out, with minor glitches and quirks. The best way to move forward when that happens is to either perform a system restore to a point prior to the when issue cropped up or if you have your mission critical info saved on another drive/storage media/platform, then a clean install, after you've recreated the bootable USB installer. Memory Leak's can also be an occurrence due to a half baked OS update process.

Right so no other sightings reported of unclickable icons, I suppose that's good news and we are still running the best OS to date.

I've noticed that too, quick solve is to never click the update button other than right after a fresh install, and have auto update of the OS take it's course, this method has been tried and tested and results in an update pattern that can't hold the administrator or user responsible for any rising error witch would result from forcing or requesting updates to the OS.
