[SOLVED] Any current MB compatible w/ i5-6500?

MB in my good (for me) PC died. How can I salvage it?

I went to Micro Center to get an Asus H370M Plus MB. Micro Center said the modern MB's don't work with 6th gen CPU's.

1. Is that true?
2. If so, any advice?

Old MB = ASRock Z170, Micro ATX, RAID, OC, etc.
Build = 1/2016, did a lot of searching in this forum, good case and PS, SSD, 1 TB HD, GPU = MSI GTX 950 Gamer 2G
User - old guy who taught programming starting in 1967, now I just putts around on my PC, although I keep planning to try gaming.

It is TRUE that a 300 series motherboard does NOT work with a 6th generation CPU. A 100 or 200 series motherboard is required for a 6th generation CPU.

Right now 200 series boards are easier to find/cheaper since they're slightly more recent. I just recently got a ASRock Z270 on amazon for like 130'ish. I think you can find a ASRock B250 Pro4 on newegg for under $100.
