HI

My PC has a strange problem - If i turn it off, it will not start again until I swap motherboard memory sticks I have 2 sticks 1 & 2, so if I change config to 2 & 1 or just 2 it will restart (if just 2, I then must PWR off to put second stick back in) however this routine works and it is undeniable. The issue is this ONLY happens if I PWR off - if I restart or sleep there is no issue.

Any thoughts on the cause PSU/MOBO/Memory

Thanks

Colin

Hi - checked RAM settings in BIOS and all fine (they are set to defaults) issue still persists.

I don't believe there is any such thing as default memory timing. What would define default??? You need to look up the various timing parameters of the memory you have installed and set the BIOS memory timing(s) accordingly.
Memory default timing would be like me saying "Here's a spare tire for your car, it'll fit because it's "standard."
That memory timing you show above as "11-11-11-28" needs to be what the BIOS is set to handle.

Hi

Again thanks for replying. I meant that the settings are all on AUTO and have been since I bought the machine 2 years ago, however the problem developed after the 12 month warranty period and I have not changed the timings for the RAM (I have only added 2 x SSD's).
