any idea what could be the cause in my system that makes battlefield 4 so unstable?

I've been struggling with this for a while. I had this pc built with games in mind, especially battlefield 4. But my system crashes way more than many of my friends with similar or "worse" builds.

I know battlefield 4 was a crashy game on its own and windows 8.1 probably doesn't help either, but i have many friends that have similar builds and experience far less crashes than me.

Basically the game crashes at random sometimes after an hour of playing, sometimes after 20 minutes. It always goes to the red screen of death and i have to restart my pc. to give you an example: i have a 3 hour gaming session : game first crashes at 20 minutes, then 2 minutes after i restart, then 20 minutes later, then an hour later. all suggesting that it's very random.

I have long suspected that it might be due to my processor being factory overclocked. But it was done by PCspecialist.com so i wish to think they know what they were doing.

here are my specs:

Overclocked Intel® CoreTMi7-4770k Quad Core (3.50GHz @ max 4.40GHz)
Motherboard - ASUS® Z87-A: ATX, USB2.0, USB3.0, SATA6GB/S, SLi, XFIRE
RAM - 16GB KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2400MHz X.M.P (2 x 8GB KIT)
Graphics Card 4GB AMD RADEON R9 290
Processor Cooling Corsair H80i Hydro Series
Power Supply CORSAIR 750W ENTHUSIAST SERIESTM MODULAR TXM-750 V2-80 PLUS®
240GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s
Thermal Paste ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND
Operating System Windows 8.1 Professional 64 Bit

hope some of this might give some clues, if you need any more info i'll provide it.

P.S. I run the game through AMD Gaming Evolved and it's set to ULTRA on pretty much everything. I have tried mantle on and off. I also never experienced a single crash in more than 10 hours of Single player. Only Multiplayer crashes.

Thank you.

not sure which one you meant so here's all of the CPU temp readings:

CPU DTS:
core current 43*C min 38*C core max 63*C

CPU package current 42*C, min 38*C max 65*C
CPU IA cores current 41*C min 38*C max 65*C
CPU GT CORES current 32*C min 30*C max 39*C

Nuvoton NCT6791D
CPU current 34*C min 33*C max 41*C

Original game was a CD, but the rest (Premium content) has since been downloaded from Origin. i have tried the Fix feature in origin many times. It seems to fix and update a few things but nothing changes crashwise.

Leaving alone the CD, have you tried "Repair your Install" for the content you downloaded from Origin? It might be probably due to that, that it downloaded wrong. And if that does not work, then try your CD.. Check for any scratches or anything..

UPDATE: Sorry my bad. Did not read you already tried the FIX feature.. Probably a CD problem.. Check for scratches..

Nah i don't think that has anything to do with it.
p.s. no scratched on cd anyway :)

Since all this I tried setting everything on max in BIOS and Ran some tests. none of which suggested that there is anything wrong with my CPU.

So I went back to my GPU, uninstalled it, removed it, cleaned the system with "Display Driver Uninstaller" , connected the GPU back and installed the latest Beta driver.

since then I have been having about 3 hours of crashless gameplay. So, Hopefully, this has finally fixed the problem.

Will report back if it hasn't.

Thank you all for input though.
