my other pc did an update and then rebooted and and now i keep getting a screen about a slic loader v 1.4.6 and i cant find really nothing on it and have no idea what it is.
any clue on what the hell it might be??

Solution

Linux.
slic is what oems use to activate windows, and loaders emulate that activation on pcs in order to bypass entering a retail key. the slic is normally a part of the bios of the board and needs a cert on the hard drive that matches the bios for it to work.

dont believe so
its has alot of like boot failed messages
and it was already on the hard drive out of an old computer

try this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-7/extend-the-windows-7-trial-from-30-to-120-days/

it will at least let you run it for a bit to get data off until you can get a retail key.

just a note: you don't need to re install windows if you get a key as there is a cmd that you can enter to change the key and then activate.

i cant even get it to let me log in it does the normal bios boot up then it pops up,
i managed to get it into safe mode now

was hoping to save a few bucks i mean like the pc isnt that impotent its just a home theater pc made of my old gaming pc parts that i use to watch netflix on and what not

Actually, for an 'illegal copy', I'd highly suggest a full wipe and reinstall.
It's not just the key/license details...but also, what was the actual install? The majority of bogus OS installs also carry loads of malware inside.

Linux.

Solution

yep, my 'fix' is just to get data off not to keep it running

alright ill wipe it and put Linux on it.
any idea on like a guide on how to install it?

i think it actually had XP on it the computer was pretty dated the hard drive is only 80GB and thats the only part i kept from it

the pc im on now is my gaming pc and the hard drive in it is from a crappy pc that a relative got at Walmart a couple years back that has windows 7 64 bit on it.
The computer that has the problem, i dont know what is was it was

Your gaming PC is one you or someone else built, correct?

i built it myself
