Hi

can't find any MB for LGA2011-1 Xeons, besides one expensive 4 socket Supermicro one. Is there really nothing out there?
What about some Dell/HP stuff pulled out from their custom builds?

Anyone knows?

Plenty on ebay. Not sure what you are after, but quite old boards at this point.

China has been remanufacturing X79 boards for a long time. They pull working chips off of boards and put them into new ones. They are a little iffy, but less than $100.

I did check out some X79 contemporary boards and you are right they don't support certain Xeons, but you haven't mentioned which ones you have or are after.

OEM boards and things from Supermicro would seem to fit the bill. Dual sockets for high end Xeons was pretty typical.

Though even the professional workstations I had access to at the time weren't the LGA2011-1 chips as I recall, they were the more moderate 6, 8 and 12 core Xeons.

And I somehow still don't know what CPU you have. Looking up OEM hardware by CPU is a lot easier than socket, since they don't actually care about that sort of thing. When they build it, they will list options and compatible CPUs, and in all likelihood, never update that information.

Expensive motherboards or nothing on that one I'm afraid. Basically the CPUs were only sold to OEMs for use in servers as near as I can tell. Supermicro is the only one that bothered to make a reasonably priced board at $300, Everything else is going to be proprietary.

You might be able to find something by looking for complete rack mount systems, but I'm sure that defeats the point.
