Newbie. The display is so poor I've resorted to using high contrast but not all functions work on the web.
Bought after Dell e5470 would no longer recognize hard dive. Any way to improve? thx

Which G3 do you have? You could look through this site;
for a replacement screen. Since there are a couple of G3's out there, might want to mention the SKU you own.

On a side note, have you made sure your laptop's BIOS is on the latest version, that you've reinstalled the GPU drivers to the latest version and that your OS is also updated? I'm kind of confused on how you stylized the thread's body, are you experiencing issues with the display like artifacting or are you just seeing a display die out?

The latter will need a replacement display. The former will need driver/BIOS/OS updates.

Moved thread from Displays section to Laptop Tech Support section.

Thanks for the reply..updated the bios from hp tool and it wouldn't turn on but eventually did. Windows 10 tells me the drivers are up to date. The screen lacks contrast and everything is difficult to read. I'd describe it as washed out but everything is there...just not enough contrast to read easily and graphic/video colors are either too bright or too dark

update: it's actually much improved with the bios update. Thanks much
