Question Any software that can restrict folder size?

Let's say you wanted to move files into a folder, until it fit X GB (such as the size of a BD-R, around 23). Or it could be any other. The program would not allow that we add more than X GB of data. What kind of app can help with this? Regardless of the SSD/HDD size, of course.

WinDirStat can tell the size of multiple folders, but it cannot restrict their size, or at least warn us when we exceed.

I suppose you could create a partition of the size you want and it would then, by default, limit the files stored within it.

I am not aware of any function or script to do this.

But the overhead of programmatically specifying a varying specific folder size would be, IMHO, far more brain power than just paying attention to what you put into the relevant folders.

it's user based so you set limit for a user, use that user and then can only use alloted space. might work anyway

WinZip has a split function that can split large folders into smaller folders so copies to your Blu-ray disc you could use WinZip.
