If you are planing to play games you 'll get around 20% more performance from Rockie's build. I'd go with his build just tweak PSU and case of your choice. In future add 256gb SSD drive and you'll be sorted for next 3-4 years.

better . but no use of 1866MHz RAM on H97 mobo . Btw in gaming , 1600MHz gives very good results .

If getting a Z97 board, make sure it supports SLI, as the ones that don't are not very good boards. Pairing a 4690k with an H97 board makes zero sense as well. Some have overclocking capability, but most do not. If you are going to microcenter, to get your CPU, get a motherboard as well, for the discount. Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI is the cheapest board I would recommend in Z97. My area microcenter carries it, and you would get $40 knocked off the cost.

it make sense cus i5 4690K is cheaper than i5 4690 and 4690K has improved design to dispel heat better .

Btw: even i5 4590 is enogh for great gaming

It is only cheaper if you are getting in store. Microcenter's price are in store only. The only difference between a 4690 and a 4690k, is the unlocked multiplier. They are both Haswell refresh chips.

There is a difference in the materials ! Just to improve the heat efficiency .

Yea, microcenter's bundle deals are awesome. That is where I went, when I bought my 3570k/z77 extreme 4 combo. Any compatible board is eligible for the discount. Like I said earlier, just make sure it supports SLI. Non SLI capable boards are junk.

That is a pretty good kit. Ares line is designed not to interfere with heatsinks. I have an Ares kit as well.
