Any suggestions please? 1000 euros budget (tower + monitor)

Hello guys this is the build i made for a friend
1. He will not overclock
2. He wants an 120gb SSD, so where do you suggest cutting from to add it? A cheaper motherboard? A cheaper GPU ?
3. Are the new R9 3 series of AMD any good over GTX 9 series?
4. Is it ok that I put a Z97 chipset with a locked CPU?
5. Is that monitor any good?
6. 600w are too many ?

We want to add the Kingston Ssdnow v300 which is the cheapest 120gb ssd (at least in our market)
Shall we put an i5 4570 (210 euros) combined with an Asrock Z97 Anniversary (82 euros) in order to lower the budget and add the SSD? Something like this in the picture. This costs around 995 euros, and my friend asked for 1000 euros and less if possible.

This is a german site, you can change the language to enhlish in the top right corner, priced in Euros, not sure where your from but I live in Ireland and theyve no problems delivering there. Set price for delivery, around €12 for total order delivery costs.

They also build the computer for you, assembly fee's sometimes goes on sale, usually €30.00 but drops to €20, €10 and even €0 alot.

I havnt really looked at the new AMD cards so im not sure if your better off going with AMD, if theres a particular card in mind just do a quick search like "MSI GTX 960 4GB vs 'your choice of card' benchmarks" and see how it stacks up, just keep in mind nvidia usually has better launch drivers for new games, took AMD two weeks after the launch of GTA V to get decent drivers while nvidia had them at launch.

If your mainly focused on gaming, you could probably get an AMD CPU so you can then maybe get a better GPU, but if you do alot of editing/redending/CPU heavy usage then I would stick with the intel CPU, but if you do decide to change, make sure the CPU is atleast 4 cores as some games are start to require it and wont start unless you have them.

The total price with delivery + assemble would be around €1024, if youve no problems building systems yourself then scrap €30 off that as you can turn off the assembly fee and build it yourself.

Theres no problem using a locked CPU on an z97 board, your just paying for overclocking functions that you wont be able to use. Thats why its better off going with an H97 board if youre not overclocking as H97 is intended for non overclockers.

600w is not too much, yes the system will run perfectly fine on it but its always good to have alot of wattage leftover, as when the PSU gets older it will degrade of how much wattage can be used.

These are just random numbers, but an example.
Having 600 watts now will maybe leave you with 500 watts next year.
Having 500 watts now will maybe leave you with 400 watts next year.
Again this is just an example, it doesnt age this quickly, i think i seen somewhere that it loses about 5/10% each year, but depends on the quality on the PSU and how much you use it.

Well too late now guys. We ordered it and replaced the R9 390 with an EVGA gtx 960 superclocked ACX 4gb 😛
