Why has my 8400, ordered on the 24th of June, been delayed til the 19th-22nd
of July? Does it have something to do with the recent chipset recalls by
Intel?

I wouldn't have thought there would be any "rants".

It's a new-specced machine and so long as the OP's credit card hasn't been
charged already, I don't see the problem.

It is likely a specific part, but could be anything. Call them and ask.
Often they can tweak the config and get it out faster (different DVD drive
choice, different memory options, etc.)

Seems a little late now; I've already emailed them and called them severa
times and they say they don't know what the holdup is and are having
difficulty finding out. At this point, I think, the best thing to do is to
wait. I mean, considering the nineteenth is only ten days away, now.

With that said, my customer service representative has been telling me he'll
do his best to expedite the process, so hopefully things'll work out at
least somewhat better than they seem to be at the moment....
