Question Any way of using an M.2 NVME SSD without an M.2 slot

I just bought a M.2 SSD, its this one

but then I just found out that my motherboard doesnt have m.2 slot.

Is there some way to link multiple Sata cables to an adapter or something? Or am I stuck until I upgrade my MB?

my motherboard is Gigabyte H410M S2

However you cannot use the drive as the main Windows boot drive with these adapters.

If you were to somehow link that to a SATA port (I don't believe you can), it would absolutely affect the speed. You'd get SATA III performance.

Your motherboard has 3x PCIe slots.
1 is presumably taken by a GPU? PCIe 3.0 x16

The other two are PCIe 3.0 x1, and will ALSO seriously inhibit the performance of an NVMe drive.

You don't have any good choices for real performance from an NVMe drive.

Asrock B450M HDV R4.0 which has only 1 Ultra M.2 slot and already occupied with my Kingston A2000.

OK, so what are you wanting to do?

It's ok i already get what i need to know. This is what i had learn yesterday ->

1. Most board has only one NVMe SSD slot so no point to get 2 for the same system.
2. M.2 SATA SSD and 2.5" SATA SSD has more or less the same performance in term of speed and both use SATA interfere.
3. M.2 SATA SSD can use M.2 slot or adapter and connect to SATA port if no M.2 slot available in the system.

correct me if am wrong. Now looking forward to get myself an ADATA 1TB Ultimate SU650 2.5" SSD, among the cheapest with good enough performance

1. Many boards have 2. Some have 3. Some boards have one that can take either M.2 SATA or M.2 NVMe, and another that is NVMe only.
2. Correct. Just a different manner of connecting.
3. Maybe. But if you need to use a PCIe adapter and SATA cable for an M.2 SATA III drive, just get a 2.5" SATA drive to begin with. Research what you're buying and what to use it for.
