to make a long story short, a friend of mine gave me a pergatron IMPTB--TK motherboard socket 1366. i've never heard of this company. i really can't find much on google about this board. i have a spare i7 920 should i build a pc around this board? only problem would be getting a bios update. what do you guys think?

If you have a camera, you could take a picture of the BIOS POST screen to determine the BIOS make and model (my screens never display long enough for me to actually write all the letters and numbers). You could then google the make and model to see if there are any files on the net, or available through other means.

Pegatron was spun off from Asustek in 2010, the latter held 25 percent of Pegatron's shares. That has changed to Asustek currently owning less than 20 percent of Pegatron's shares. Pegatron makes OEM motherboards for companies such as HP.
