anyone know a fix for this

all of a sudden my pc thinks i have two monitors which i dont and it happened out of the blue, i uninstalled my drivers and put the latest on with the gta drivers and it fixed it and now its back and its doing my head in. sometimes my pc will load up in a low resolution because of this

Go into device manager and under monitors select the one you don't want, right click and click uninstall.

ive done this but when i turn my pc on again its back, if i go into the nvidia control panel it says i have one monitor but the control panel says i have two.

Silly question, and probably nothing, how do you have your monitor hooked up to your PC? I would try to tell it to disconnect the unnecessary monitor from the screen resolution screen. Should be a option under multiple displays.

i wonder if my gpu is messing up.

I would try from the Screen resoultion area, to click the screen that should be there and then under that it shows Multiple Display tell it to disconnect.

i went in there and it was on single mate, it must be the gpu, i just uninstalled my gpu drivers and i dont have the option to use multiple displays anymore.

Gotcha, are you using beta drivers maybe? Haven't personally experienced many bugs with them myself, but others have. What card do you have?

i had the second newest for my gtx 970 when it first happened, so i got the latest and it happened again and now im on the 347.09 which i believe are from December 2014, the 347.09 which i have now never once gave my problems so il see how they go.

Gotcha, may be there will be a hot fix, I'm in my office so i can't refer to my version but I run a strix gtx 970 and do use dual displays but haven't had an issue.

thankyou my friend, i will let you know how it is for the next couple days, if it happens again im gonna assume its windows and re install it, good job my ssd doesn't have much on it.
