Fujitsu-Siemens link has a really sweet 17" LCD (under pro LCD's) w/ a 450:1 contrast, 25ms response time, and it uses IPS technology, not MVA. Is there anyway to get this in teh US?

Only if you let me see the Umpa Lumpa- Homer Simpson.

I think it is VERY interesting that Fujitsu does not use MVA in it's own finished units.

Yes, but don't you think that if MVA is the greatest thing (also cheaper to produce) wouldn't they use it in their own LCDs?

Thing is, this is Fujitsu-siemens, and from what I have seen, there are MANY fujitsu-whatevers. Thus, this may be a different subdivision or sister company. Know I had a hard as hell time finding the fujitsue that made lcd's- took about 2 hours. hehe.

Sig of the week.

as a used car salesman once told me - "there is an arse for every seat". They may have been under a longstanding agreement to produce x panels for Siemens. Plus they have plant constructed to produce these panels. They may be discounting them because they are old tech...any number of scenarios are possible. GM makes Corvettes and GrandAms - you wouldn't buy the latter expecting the former....

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.
