$1600 for this? I got a 49" Samsung G9 thats much higher res and larger for similar MSRP, but on sale for far less.

Is there some manufacturing or cost benefit to building screens that are super wide? I have a hard time believing people actually want super-short and super-wide screens.

Assuming the goal is immersion, a wide monitor fills peripheral vision better than, say, three monitors because there's no distracting border.
