anybody know where i can get s651m manual

Probably has an Award BIOS. Google Award Bios beep codes
Probably memory related.
Of course the obvious answer would be http://usa.aopen.com/download.aspx although I doubt that the manual has post error codes, but who knows?

Good news - found your manual, put it here for you; bad news - didn't see a 'beep code' listing in it...

More or less 'standard' Award codes:
1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long, 1 short: Memory or motherboard error
1 long, 2 short: Monitor or graphics card error
1 long, 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long, 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly
Continuous short beeps: Power error

thanks guys for your help. the long beeps turned out to be the ram not sitting right. it seems that the pins in the socket are worn and not making contact. i sprayed the edge of the ram card with switch cleaner and also the dimm sockets and this seems to have improved things.

visited the AOpen site, among others, and downloaded a couple of manuals but the
MOBO's pictured were a totally different layout. my MOBO is rev. 2.3 but i can't find a manual or drivers anywhere.

during POST i get an annoying SYNTAX logo, so i assume that AOpen have built the board specifically for them. i've searched for SYNTAX drivers but there is nothing for the revision of my MOBO.
