Aorus 5 mobo won't power on

Novice builder here,

This is my first attempt at building my own pc. After mounting the mobo, cpu, gpu, ssd and psu I turned on the power, but only had the mobo flash for a split second then nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Can you list the parts in your system? (mobo, cpu, gpu, ssd, psu and OS)

Build is: Mobo: Gigabyte z370 aorus 5 gaming Cpu: I5 8400 Gpu: Evga 1060 6gb Ram: 1x ballistix 8gb ddr4 2666 Psu#1: corsair cx650m Psu#2: older 500w (from old mobo)

1. Double check you have 8-pin power for your CPU connected and 6-pin power for your video card connected properly.
2. Double check your CPU is installed correctly. Check for bent pins and the CPU cooler is sitting down flat on the CPU.
