AP Router Configuration

Hello,

I have a Surfboard cable router as my primary with an 8 port switch connected and all of my RJ45 ports throughout the home connected to it. Can I move the AP (2nd Router) downstairs and connect it to one of the 5 RJ45 jacks and still be able to have access from it as I do now with it plugged directly into the Surfboard router?

The switch should be completely transparent so it should work the same.
