[SOLVED] Apple A1016 Bluetooth keyboard and PC

Hi, I am having trouble getting a CSR 4.0 Bluetooth dongle on my PC to connect a A1016 Apple keyboard.
It was working fine with an old USB 2.0 dongle I had but the dongle died and I replaced with with one of the cheapo CSR 4.0 dongles from eBay. It appears to pair with the keyboard but once paired it doesn't connect.
I can connect my Logitech Bluetooth mouse to the dongle although it seems a bit unreliable and I sometimes have to turn the mouse off and on to get it to connect. I can also connect the keyboard to a Win10 laptop which has a built-in Broadcom-based bluetooth radio.
Can anyone recommend a brand of Bluetooth USB dongle that preferably uses a Broadcom chipset?

Definitely sounds like an issue related to the new dongle. Unfortunately, with BT and WiFi etc, the cheapo options are typically more hassle than they're worth.

I would opt for something like the BT400 from ASUS. ~$10 USD
