Apple Announces Black Friday Sale Without Details

Top flier is a rumor, bottom flier is Apple's official teaser. Does it count as promoting the company if I imply that their Black Friday deals are never that great?
 
How is this news in any way? This was already posted last week, there is no new information, and who the hell cares? Every single company has big sales on black Friday, why is Apple the only one to not only get one, but multiple articles about theirs? Their products will still be overpriced, even at 25% off. How about we hear about Dell's, or HP's black Friday sales? Why are the "Best Offer" listings on every page I got to almost always half Apple products when every informed consumer knows nothing Apple is a "Best offer"?
 
Abrahm: Nobody is talking about Dell's deals because Dell is trash. If you want a PC, get a real one... not some bargain-bin computer made with the absolute cheapest components available. There are vastly better PC choices and none of them cost too much more than Dell.

I think the reason this has gotten attention here is the fact that if it's true, it's highly unusual for Apple. Apple is a company that doesn't ever cut deals for anyone, so 25% off is something worth taking advantage of if you're thinking about getting Apple swag but are hesitant to do so because of the price. Admittedly, it's still considerably more expensive than most of the competitors, but every dollar saved counts if that's the product you want. If it's not, then yes, you can get a great PC for much less so this news isn't really of interest to you.

It's just a matter of something uncommon happening. HP does sales far more often so its not as noteworthy, even though you do get better deals. That said, I don't really believe Apple will have such major price cuts. It's just not their style (even though it wouldn't hurt for them to do it once in a while).

It's news to me. I had seen the top flier a few weeks back on the "official" black friday ad website. However, I had never seen the bottom flier, which makes it a bit more official.

Yes Apple products are already overpriced, but that doesn't mean people don't want to see the deals. I plan on getting a 32gb ipod touch 3g for christmas, so this definitely applies to me.

I was really tempted to go with the zune hd. Overall, the Zune is a much better piece of equipment, but microsoft won't come out and tell me that there will be XBLA games and Xbox originals on the zune hd. So in that sense, the ipod touch becomes a much better casual gaming device with its thousands of apps and games. Hopefully microsoft can release a serious mobile gamer, or eventually bring first class games to the zune hd.

Thanks for the information. I will definitely be on the Apple store site this Friday looking to buy my first apple product (I'm a pc guy). Hopefully I can get a "good" deal :)

Well I doubt Apple is going to lower prices on the ipods. They just lowered their prices 3-4 months back. And even if they do I doubt it'll be more than 20 bucks or so.

Maybe for the mac's they might give some 100$ discount but I think thats about as low as Apple is going to go....
But thats just me, so good luck to all!
 
The 25%-60% off sale is bogus. Here are the latest facts: Among the discounted items are iMacs ($101 off), MacBook Pros ($51-$101 off), iPod nanos ($11 off), and iPod touches ($21-$41 off). Also included are the Apple TV, AirPort products, Magic Mouse, iWork, and several other Apple and third-party accessories.

Not much of a savings in my book, not enough to go out on Black Friday.

I've planned on getting my wife the Nano, but at only $11 saving's I can just pick this up anytime 🙁

usually aren't these "black friday" sales just free shipping? Personally I would rather have a free ipod with purchase of a macbook. Or a free Zune for the purchase of any similar PC..... don't need printers, i have 20 of them at home for some odd reason

Like last year, I'm thinking Apple will offer a few bucks off iPods and computer accessories. There will probably be some substantial savings on the older computers (20" & 24" iMacs, etc.) too.
25% off a $3k plus Mac Pro tower... hardly.
 
Too bad I don't really desire anything of theirs at the moment.

Already have an iPod. And I want a new gaming PC so nothing for me. I would think there would be a lot to take advantage of this though. Always a lot of people at the Mac Store.
