The C-64 demand will not stall...
The Ti-99/4A demand will not stall...
The -name your gadget- demand will not stall...

1st year business school teaches about life cycles of products.
create a market, provide products, maximise profit... and when you reach saturation (and you ALWAYS do) you go with declining sales for as long as it makes economic sense. Then you abandon the product and go with the next (if you have one).

I hope Apple has something planned for the days after the iPhone.
Then again, I don't give a rat's patootie :)

"He also said that Apple is "unrivaled" in innovation and stressed that the firm has no limits." hahahaha I haven´t laughed this hard in a while. Apple has not been inovative for 5 years, and especially the iphone 5 has absolutely nothing inovative about it.

[citation][nom]pacomac[/nom]How old is this article? I think you will find Apple overtook Samsung as the #1 Smartphone in the US last quarter, not the other way round with 51%+ of sales.[/citation]

I don't believe Samsung has ever been #1 Smartphone manufacturer in the US. Apple was already outselling Samsung in the US and Apple had the major marketshare of smartphones in the US. But, worldwide Android has the majority marketshare. Problem with Apple's marketshare, is that the US may not have much room for Apple to garner more marketshare than they already have if they sit on their laurels. Worldwide, Android is gaining the marketshare faster than Apple is, and in the global market there is a lot of room for growth, which is what Apple is trying to do with cheaper phones and pricing.

There is are a couple of problems for Apple that I see, one is that iOS isn't progressing fast enough (I don't have an Iphone/Ipad) based upon what others are saying, while Android will be having another major Android OS update release in the next couple of months (Key Lime Pie), and just a few days ago there was an update to the current OS (Jellybean). Second problem for Apple, no new products. For a company that is claiming how innovative they are, where are the new innovations? In the next two years, if Apple cannot bring a totally new device to the market, I expect Apple to see deeper losses in their marketshare even in the US.

I have no love for Apple nor do I hate Apple but would like to see competition strive for the better products as that is what gives the consumers better products and better pricing. Android would not have made it this far this quickly if it wasn't for Apple as the goal post to aim for. Now, I feel that Android is now setting the goal post and Apple has to strive to match it.
