Actually, I didn't...

They can't get away from Foxconn, any more than the rest of the usual suspects. It's currently the one company that's services can't be matched by any competitor. Instead of complaining about Apple, how about keeping it fair and pointing the finger at everyone that's looking the other way.

he isnt actually giving them *** for not ditching foxxconn. the point of his post was to reflect that apple doesnt actually care about underage workers and that there is more going on here.

Man im all for child employment as long as they are getting paid sufficiently and have all the needed rights in place for them.

Child slavery is a whole other thing...

not everyone is born with a silver spoon.
but this thing about underage workers is not being brought forward properly.
I worked my fathers shop since i was about 13. I did not need to do that, but thats where i learnt the ropes for the business, (its another matter that i keep looking to jump ships even now, after 15 years in the shop.)
if it is wrong to employs underage workers , then how come we allow our kids to help out in our family businesses be it Farm, Shops, or Offices? its just the bad luck of those some kids that their parents don't own a proper business or farm for them to work at.
but all that said i agree totally with the fact that Apple misused this law to break away from the supplier without any lose to itself, they are like biggest shark in the business, and they will do anything to maintain that head-start..

Yes they can, it's Apple. Target of both unreasonable love and unreasonable hate, for some reason. Apple could announce they're donating one billion dollars a year to conservation groups and people would complain "Yes, and what's that money made of? Paper! Which comes from trees!" (... which, of course, the 'paper' money's printed on doesn't, exactly, but still.) "Apple's responsible for them getting cut down in the first place!"

I don't mind that someone doesn't like Apple. That's fine. And there are points they deserve criticism (you want to sell the mini for HOW much?) But there are some people who act like Apple sent out a hit squad to kill their families, send their mother to become a prostitute and put the video on the Internet - and others who could have that happen and still praise Apple as God.

Frankly, both sides need to either shut up or go into politics where we're used to ignoring it.

if you cant get work legally well... there's always prostitution.

people fail to realize this, america specifically we have the worlds oldest children, not everywhere in the world is blessed with a government that wont let you die if they could help (for the most part, there are programs to keep you alive and well enough)

So you've got to wonder what the effects of terminating their employment will have on themselves and their families. Unless their parents were just dicks and made them go to work or something, I mean who knows?
