[citation][nom]baconeater[/nom]I also heard that apple consumers have a much higher average income. [/citation]
Now that's another myth that needs to be put to rest. That myth did in fact arise from the initial premise that owning an iPhone meant you could afford a data plan for your phone. Since data plans are ubiquitous now, and since iPhones are as much subsidized as the next smartphone, this point is moot.
Just drive around in whatever neighborhood that you believe is populated by below-average income people and you'll see plenty of iphones among other smartphones.
Aesthetic-wise, to each his own. If your ideal is a glass-made brick-shaped non-customizable device that looks and feels EXACTLY like the other few thousands like that around you, be my guest. But then, stop touting your "artistic sense and originality" as your forte, because obviously it is not.

I'd sell your Samsung stock until the dust settles, Samsung is already out 1 billion plus from the patent suit, and from what I garnered Samsung will lose at least an additional $7.5 billion per year from Apple's move or Samsung will lose 9%~10% or more in revenues.

This battle is getting real.

Apple doesn't need Samsung, perhaps this is just their way of stating that. Who knows. Samsung will be fine, I'm sure. Apple? Apple won't even notice...the suppliers are in line simply to ensure that.

I am sure Apple is spinning it as lower costs for equal product. I am sure Samsung is spinning it as not getting enough for their parts. I wouldn't trust either of them

Screw Apple, I vote with my money, which means I will never buy any apple products. I will take samsung over apple any day out of pure hatred for Steve Jobs and his legacy company (Although I'll buy an htc phone before a samsung). I wish everyone else would join me.

I don't hold Apple in the regard that I used to but I'm too old to hate a company. They've done nothing that has negatively affected me. Its always interesting to read all the sheer hatred for them here.

Well Halcyon, I'm not arguing with your statement, just explaining why I feel like I do about apple. Bullies never messed with me growing up, but I still didnt like them because they were bullies. Thats kinda how I feel about apple. I understand they havent done anything that has negatively affected you and thats good for you. I see how they bully around other companies and it bothers me. I see how they adapt their marketing strategies to get as much much money out of their customers, which is fine, thats buisness, but I dont like it. I especially didnt like when the Iphone 4 came out with antenna problems and Steve Jobs himself came out and flat denied there was any problem until the world lashed back at him and he was forced to do something about it. (It kinda felt like he didnt want to have to own up to any mistakes that might cost the company money to fix) I used to mostly dislike Steve Jobs for his Hubris issues, but apparently that spread to his company also.

Apple is the Gorilla in the room, everyone is not going to like them or their business practices. ...if they concerned themselves with that they'd not be anywhere near as profitable as they have been. I don't care for a lot of their practices (all the petty lawsuits) but I know its cut-throat and that's how the game is, unfortunately, played. That's the world we live in. I don't hate the Japanese, German, Korean, or Italian automakers because they've all slammed the American car makers with their vastly superior products. I'm sure there's some unfair nastiness behind the scenes too that I'm not aware of. No, I'm not insinuating that apple products are superior.

Re: "DON'T DO IT LG!!! Apple will sue you for $1 billion for having a similar display as their phones."

LG Prada will then say "Hello there Apple! Remember me? How about them apples, eh?"

So YOU MUST fine just fine and dandy with the Chinese clone of the Samsung Galaxy! If you're not then become a politician, hypocrisy suits you!

If Apple or others ditch Samsung that's their prerogative, LG produces great displays. There won't be any quality loss and if anything an improvement migrating to LG panels.

[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]samsung should sue. that's what Apple would do.[/citation]

And that is the very reason they shouldn't and won't sure.

Yeah, that explains why at least 13 Foxconn employees jumped to their deaths from the roof of a Foxconn building. Funny how employees at other companies are not jumping off roofs.

saturnus wrote: "Well, if I remember correctly, the average suicide rate for Foxconc-workers, is lower than the average for the general population in China"

You don't remember correctly. I'll bet you cannot come up with a cite for that ignorant opinion of yours.

You two Apple fanboys are the ones who need to do some research. Try these links:

Actually this makes things easier for Samsung.
Now the gloves can come off as they do not have to worry about loosing Apple's business.

Let the games begin :)

I know my facts just fine, something about Glass Houses comes to mind.

I wish Apple and any USA company would or could tell China to go screw themselves. China and many Countries treat their citizen's like chattel property (e.g. animals are chattel). IMO - the USA and all European Countries should expel China and a few other Countries from trade - especially with China's current monetary policies. China is a pseudo Communistic Country, in reality it's a Imperialist Society.

Foxconn is not exclusive to 'Apple' so you might want to fact check.

Ditto with Samsung, Google (Bing) more
